At Balance and Strength, we believe that health is more than just the absence of disease. We beleive that focusing on maintaining balance and strength as you age is vital to improving quality of life and preventing the risk of falls.
We offer a wide range of classes to support your gains in balance and strength. Check out the different classes we offer to see which one best suits you and your needs.

At Balance and Strength, we strive to provide expert level classes, with a focus on improving balance and strength, while reducing falls risks. We are dedicated to a positive experience and improving overall health as you age.

Every year, 36 million falls are reported by older adults. Of this number, 3 million older adults are treated in an emergency room of a fall related injury. By improving balance and strength, you can decrease your fall risk and improve your quality of life.
Balance and Strength was created by Fiona Bartram.
During my undergraduate degree of kinesiology, I volunteered in joint rehabilitation clinic. I worked with man people who had had previous hip or knee injuries, caused by falls or immobility issues. While working with people who are struggle with the aftermaths of an injury in their later years, I thought why there aren't more porgams aimed at preventing these types of injuries occurring. As we age, people lose muscle mass and bone density, which leads to decreased levels of activity Decreasing a humans level of activity enhances these decreases in muscle mass and bone desnity, creating greater risk of injury, especially falling. I started suggesting activities and exercises to my own grandparents, to help them with balance, and wanted to share my knowledge to help more people like them. By creating a program aimed at maintaining and enhancing muscle strength, and working to improve balance, these risks could be mitigated, and this Balance and Strength was formed.
To ensure the programs are offered at expert levels, I obtained my personal training license and group fitness instructor license to ensure participant safety. My background in kinesiology allows for greater expertise on the human body, and aging.
